About Agric AI
Agric AI is an AI-powered solution from the Agritech AI Research Group to help smallholder farmers detect crop pests and diseases early using computer vision and machine learning.
How it works
Farmers take a photo of an affected leaf using their smartphone. The system analyzes the image with a trained convolutional neural network (CNN) model — powered by Teachable Machine — and returns the disease name, confidence level, treatment recommendations, and preventive advice.
Who it’s for
Smallholder farmers in Rwanda and across Africa who face delayed disease detection, limited access to agronomy experts, and incorrect pesticide usage. By improving early detection and guiding proper treatment, Agric AI helps reduce crop losses, lower production costs, increase farmer income, and support national food security and climate-smart agriculture.
